JobDescription:
  1. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for cost effective cargo capability of his assigned ships in accordance with Company Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Responsible for the technical condition of his assigned ships. 
  • To ensure that all trading certificates of the vessels under his care are kept valid at all times. Conditions of Class issued by Class Societies if any are to be closely monitored and closed as soon as possible.
  • Responsible for carrying out Vessel’s Technical Inspections of vessels under his care at scheduled intervals or as assigned by the Senior Management.
  • Responsible for running repair list vetting and coordinating preparation of periodic docking specification, bids, bid analysis and DD procedure. 
  • Preparation of annual budgets and revisions for his assigned ships in conjunction with the Fleet Manager & Senior Management.  
  • Responsible for advising the Fleet Manager or his deputy when designated, regarding all matters relating to the effective management of his assigned ships. 
  • To recommend changes to and coordinate implementation of agreed policies and procedures for the Fleet.  
  • Responsible for the Safety and Environmental standards on board his assigned ships. 
Salary :35 lacs


    1. MAIN TASKS:

11.4.1.   Crew-related 

  • Recommend and/or approve promotions of Sr Officers
  • Approval of Top 4 prior joining the vessel
  • Compliance with MLC requirements
  • Office briefing of staff
  • Monitor actions of top 4 – newly hired & promoted
  • Review of H&M cases
  • Rest Hours - advise vessel on compliance


11.4.2. HSQE-related

  • Approval of permit to work
  • Risk Assessment review and approval
  • Initiation and close-out of Management of Change (MOC)
  • Meeting vessels’ KPIs including environmental
  • Conduct & report tech inspection as planned


11.4.3. Operations-related

  • Close-out of vetting follow-up
  • New vessels take-over
  • Review of Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
  • Follow-up Monday Morning Wake-up Call (MMWUC)
  • Implement onboard SMS, Flag, Class and any local requirements
  • Assist Fleet Manager in preparation of vessel budgets for assigned ships
  • Preparation of periodic docking specification, bids and bid analysis
  • Conduct Safety Meeting during onboard visit and provide recommendations to the Senior Management on improvements required (if any) on the safety standards of the vessel
  • Report any near-miss or best practices from onboard visits
